What is the moral message of the original story? The moral message of the original story is the triumph of good over evil. The innocent child is threatened by the wicked wolf, but survives. Parson’s Pleasure Parson’s Pleasure is a short story written by Roald Dahl(1916-1990 ), first published in 1959. Stories written by Roald Dahl are known for unexpected ending. His children’s books are known for their unsentimental, often very dark humour. The exposition Cyril Boggis was a dealer in antique furniture. He often disguised himself as a parson, and told people he was collecting old furniture for charity work. Rummins was a farm owner who had a valuable commode, but he had no idea of it. The story happened on Rummins’ farm. The conflict Boggis found a valuable commode in Rummins’ house. He tried to persuade Rummins that he only wanted the legs, and managed to buy it at a price of 20 pounds The climax Rummins cut the legs of the commode off. What does this story tell us?
