It’s about… A hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed . Storyline: A Viking boy called Hiccup introduces his village of Berk .The village is attacked by dragons, who steal food (mostly sheep) and set things on fire. The villagers grab weapons and try to fight the dragons off. Despite being told by every adult in sight to go indoors, Hiccup hauls(拖拽，用力拖） out a cannon（大炮） he made himself and shoots a dragon out of the night sky. The dragon lands in the woods some distance from the village and no one believes that he hit anything, so it‘s the next day before Hiccup can go looking for it. It turns out to be a rare and deadly Night Fury, but Hiccup can’t make himself kill it. Instead he releases（释放，解放） it – whereupon（因此） it also refrains（忍住，克制） from killing Hiccup -- and it flies off through the trees. Hiccup discovers that the dragon (which he eventually calls Toothless because of its retractable（缩进的） teeth ） is missing a tail fin（鳍，尾翅）. He makes a prosthetic （修复的）tail fin out of leather. In a series of workshop（车间，作坊） and test flight scenes, Hiccup builds and perfects a saddle（鞍，马鞍，鞍状物）controlled mechanism （机械装置）for the tail fin, and a safety harness（马具，挽具，挽具状带子）. Meanwhile, Hiccup’s father Stoick has signed him up for dragon training with Gobber, which is very different from the training he’s already doing with Toothless: he’s going to learn to fight dragons. At first, he’s the worst student in the class ，this comes as no surprise to his classmates :Astrid ,Snotlout ,Fishlegs , Ruffnut , and her twin brother Tuffnut .(Hiccups a little sweet on Astrid.) .
