The scientific theory and method are applied to study the pearlitic eutectoid decomposition mechanism in steels and the concept of existence of socalled prevenient phase was negated. It is thought that the pearlite transformation and interphase pre cipitation of supercooling austenite is a process that ferrite and carbied can coexist and become a eutectoid in the decompose process.
