experiment (n)实验,试验 (v)进行一次实验,常与on,upon,with搭配 experiment on/upon sb.\sth.用某人/某物做实验 e.g.Scientists experiment upon animals. experiment with sth.用某物进行实验 We often experiment with new methods. perform/carry out/make/conduct an experiment进行一次实验 experimental(adj)实验性的 an experimental school一所实验学校 conclusion(n)结束,结尾,结论,推论 in conclusion总是,总而言之 make a conclusion 下结论 draw\arrive at\reach\come to a conclusion bring...to a conclusion使...结束 conclude(v)结束,推断出,决定 conclusive(adj)结论性的,确凿的 it 作形式主语的常见结构 1.It is\was+adj.\n.+to do sth.\that从句 e.g.It is our duty to protect the environment. 2.It is\was+adj.\n.+for sb.to do sth. e.g.It is impossible for a child to reach that apple. 3.It is\was+adj.\n.+of sb.to do sth. e.g.It is kind of you to show me the way. 4.It is\was+no use\good doing sth. e.g.It is no good reasoning with me. 5.It is+done+that从句 e.g.It is suggested that the project should be completed soon. for example,such as,that is辨析 for example 主要用于举例说明,一般只列举同类事物中的“一个”,其位置很灵活,可置于句首,句中或句末,用标点符号隔开。 e.g.Some students,for example John,live in the neighbourhood. such as用来列举事物(一类),放在被列举的事物之前(列举部分事物) e.g.He knows several languages,such as English,French and German. that is用来列举全部事例,放在被列举的事例前面,并用逗号隔开 e.g.I have three good friends,that is,Jim,Jack and Tom. take...for example以...为例 follow ones example效仿某人give an example举例 set an example to sb=set sb.an example为某人树立榜样 be an example to...是...效仿的好榜样 put sth in order把某物按顺序排列 e.g.Lily,put your things in order after you play with them. in order有序的out of order无序的 in good order 井然有序的 in bad order乱七八糟的 in the order of按...的顺序 place an order订货 关系代词that 引导定语从句时,既可指人,又可指物;在从句中可作主语或宾语,作宾语时可以省略。 e.g.All that is needed is a good supply of oil.(作主语,指物) e.g.The noodles that I cooked were delicious.(作宾语,指物,可省略) e.g.The boy that we saw yesterday was Johns youger brother.(作宾语,指人,可省略) 动词不定式作目的状语 e.g.He had to shout to make himself heard. 动词不定式作结果状语 e.g.My grandmother lived to see the liberation of China. 动词不定式作条件状语 e.g.To turn to the left,you could find a p
