On the dry environment area, bryophytes have become the main soil crust plants. In order to explore t he characteristic of soil crust bryophyt es on gold deposit,w e studied the bryophyt es of limestone and lat eritic gold sites in Lao Wanchang Lateritic Gold De posit of Qinglong in Guizhou in August, 2007. Based on the extensive invest igat ion and identify of the bryophyte specimens, 35 species in 23 genera of 10 fam ilies w ere found.T here w ere no Hepaticae in this tw o area .T here w ere16 species belonging to 11 genera of 5 families on limestone, 26 species belonging to 20 genera of 5 families on lateritic gold sit es. On limestone and laterit ic gold sites, there w ere 6 same genera and 7 same mosses. The species of Pottiaceae w ere the main soil crust bryophytes i
