Many peoples asked me for tutorials of my new rugged design and my others designs named the “fan” and “windmill”. Let’s get started: You need: -0.8mm (0.030”) mig welding wire. -SMA pigtail with RG316 coax. -Mounting putty -Soldering iron -Flux -Caliper (1200 to 900mhz require a 12” caliper) -Pliers -Cutters Dimensions tables are at end of this document. 1) Straighten a good length of welding wire and bend the first 1/8” at 90deg. Make another 90deg. bend at “Arms” from the first one, leave ¼” and cut. (Aim for “Arms” distance in between the interior of the two bends.) 2) Repeat 3 times for the windmill, 4 for the virevent, 5 for the fan and 8 times for the turbine. 3) Cut a “Center” length, from now you have all your antenna parts. For those who bought my DIY kit, start from here. 4) Place the long pieces in a star fashion on the table (120deg apart for the windmill, 90deg. for the virevent, 72deg for the fan and 45deg for the turbine) Small bends must be in the center pointing up, mounting putty is handy at this point.
