Zeus’ unfaith angered Hera and she tried to kill Hercules. But he survived with a miracle. When Hercules reached adulthood he became a famous warrior(勇士). Then Hera made him finish 12 labours for his brother, Eurystheus. These 12 trials（磨练） were: destroy the Nemean Lion, kill the Lernaean Hydra(九头蛇), bring the Cerynitian Hind（雌马鹿） alive to Mycenae, bring alive the Erymanthian Boar（野猪）, carry out the dung（粪便） of the cattle of King Augeas of Elis in a single day, chase the man-eating birds who used their feathers as arrows, bring the Cretan Bull, bring the man-eating mares（牡马）, Fetch（拿走） the Belt（腰带） of Hippolyte, fetch the Cattle of Geryon, fetch the Golden Apples of the HESPERIDES（金苹果园）, bring Cerberus（三头犬） from Hades. 1. Slay the Nemean lion (扼死铜筋铁骨的涅墨亚森林的猛狮) destroy the Nemean Lion His first Labour was to destroy the Nemean Lion that couldnt be defeated by any weapon. Hercules shot an arrow at him and broke its neck with his bare hands. In remembrance of the grand battle, Zeus placed the Lion of Nemea among the stars. It was called Leo（狮子座）, belong to the Zodiac(十二星座). 2.Slay the 9-headed Lernaean Hydra (杀死勒尔涅沼泽为害人畜的九头水蛇 ). Kill the Hydra of Lerna The Hyrdra was a large, serpent-like creature with seven heads Hercules attacked the Hydra and began to chop off its many heads. Yet each time he chopped off a head, the Hydra would grow two more in its place. He called on his friend Iolaus to burn each wound which did not allow the heads to grow back. In this way he defeated the Hydra. Eurystheus refused to count this labor because Hercules had help in completing it 3.Capture the Golden Hind of Artemis (生擒克律涅亚山里金角铜蹄的赤牡鹿) Capture the Golden Hind The Cerynitian Hind was a deer with golden antlers. Hercules hunted it for a year and finally captured it with a net while it was sleeping. After completing this Labor, Hercules joined Jason and the Argonauts for a period of time.
