Basic vocabulary (at least 3000~4000words ) Choose proper material(For your reference only) Certain background knowledge Loudspeaker or earphone Environment Listen(how to use a material) Listen 4 times For the first time ,you don’t need a pause .Listen the whole material and get a general idea about what had been talking about. Listen again and do a shorthand. Write down the key words and indicate the layout. Make sure you can retell the main points roughly . For the third time, listen and dictate every word you have heard. A pause is needed after every 4~7 seconds(12~18 words).Pay attention to tense, words connections ,reduced sounds ,word groups and phrasing ,abbreviation, etc. . Try to spell out the words you didn’t know according to their pronunciation. Finally, listen and check your spelling, punctuation and grammar. Write up the words you have missed based on grammar, context, background knowledge. Share some tips in listening Do summary is important .Write down new words, phrases ,sentence patterns for memorizing or later referencing . Read the material. Compare you accent and intonation with the announcer. Imitation is a good approach to correct your pronunciation.
