Procedures:
Step 1 Greetings and Lead-in
Greet the whole class.
Ask Ss to do Warm-up.
Learn the names about sports and ask Ss to do the match.
Ask Ss to prepare more pictures about sports and say their names.
Ask Ss to talk about their favorite sports.
Step 2 Listening 1
Learn the new words of this part.
Notes:
1) story n. 故事;小说
Mom read me an interesting story last night.
cartoon n. 漫画;动画片
All the children like cartoons.
war n. 战争;斗争
The two countries were at war for two years.were v. (are 的过去式)是
We were good friends ten years ago.
evening n. 傍晚,晚间
He seldom watches TV at home in the evening.
hero n. 男主角;英雄
Bill plays the hero in the film.
The football star was Paul’s hero when he was at school.

Step 3 Dialogue 1
Explain some important words and useful sentences. Encourage Ss to make some sentences.
Play the tape and ask Ss to read after it, and then ask Ss to play the dialogue.
Let Ss to guess where the dialogue takes place and the relation between them.
Ask some Ss to talk about movie HERO in one word.
Remember the following important phrases:
Where were you yesterday evening?
What was the name of …?
Have you seen … yet?
How do you like …?
Step 4 Role Play 1
Practise the important phrases and words.
Ask Ss to practise the dialogue as Dialogue 1. Ask some Ss to play the dialogue in front of the class.
Ask Ss to practise more about this pattern.
