Encourage Ss to talk about different characteristic of different places according to the sentence pattern : “ Where is Tian’anmen? It’s in Beijing.” Let the Ss read the words about each place ,the sightseeing and places of interest. Introduce briefly the difference between natural views , art views and places of interest. Step 2 Listening 1 Learn the new words of this part. Notes: pearl n. 珍珠 statue n. 雕像 liberty n. 自由 monument n. 纪念碑 India n. 印度 Egypt n. 埃及 go on a tour 漫游； 巡回； 周游 2. Ask Ss to look at the pictures, and then prepare doing listening. 3. Play the tape. Ask Ss to do the match. Play the tape again, and then check the answers with the whole class.
