Unit 3 Feelings and Emotions
The First Period
Teaching aims:
To learn the different sentence patterns used to describe emotional experiences.
To listen to the materials about feeling and emotions.
To have a brief summary about emotions.
To master some important words and expressions.

Procedures:
Step 1 Greetings and Lead-in
Greet the whole class.
Ask Ss to do Warm-up.
Ask Ss to recall and summarize the expressions they’ve mastered to describe feelings and expressions.
Make sure they understand the sentence pattern: I feel ______ when I ______ years old.
3. Check the answers with the whole class.
Step 2 Listening 1
Learn the new words of this part.
Notes:
worried adj. 闷闷不乐的
exam n. 考试,测验
boss n. 老板,上司
fantastic adj. 极好的,极妙的
delighted adj. 欣喜的,快乐的
pleased adj. 高兴的,满足的
give sb …off 让某人…休息
2. Ask Ss to look at the listening materials before listening.
3. Play the tape. Ask Ss to do the match and give the reasons for their choices.
Play the tape again, and then check the answers with the whole class.

Step 3 Dialogue 1
Have students discuss the relationship between the two speakers and where the dialogue take place.
Explain the important phrases and divide the students into 3 groups to discuss and complete the dialogue with the words given below.
Play the tape and ask Ss to read after it, and then ask Ss to play the dialogue.
