She wrote a variety of romantic, devotional, and childrens poems. She is best known for her long poem Goblin Market, her love poem Remember”. She was also associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood headed by her brother D. G. Rossetti , and shared the Pre-Raphaelite taste for the beautiful but sad and various imagery. Her writing exerted a great influence on 20th-century women poets . Their father, Gabriele Rossetti, was an Italian poet; their mother, Frances Polidori , was the sister of Lord Byrons friend and physician, John William Polidori. She was the youngest of four children who all ended up becoming writers. However, in the 1840’s, the family’s economic situation worsened and her own health deteriorated. At this point , she , her mother and sister became intensely involved with the Anglo-Catholic movement.
