* The check sheet is the form that will be used to collect your data. It is important that it cover all the KPIVs that you are trying to study. I do not read through this slide in great detail.... * Here is an example of the check sheet used to collect the data for our study. Note it contains info on all of our KPIVs that we are studying. Another thing to emphasize at this point is that ideally you should be present when the data is collected. In our case it is not feasible so the form needs to contain more information so you can check the data. Ask the class if they notice anything funny about this data...they should see that this sales person is meeting with Wal-Mart Kmart Light World all at the same time...this data is suspect and should be followed up with before being used. * This is a summary sheet and is only being used to put the info into Minitab. Point out the key. * Now we plot and interpret the plots to attempt to reduce the # of KPIVs that we are looking at. * The purpose is to show the class how to make a histogram in Minitab. Again, a review....do not go through in detail. * * Instructions for how to make a histogram in Minitab. Options let you enter how many categories you want on your histogram and where you want the tick mark....at the cut point or center of the bars. The # of categories or intervals can be roughly estimated by the square root of the total # of data points (i.e., 36 data points = 6 categories). * Here’s how you put in the title. * Question: Does it look like we are achieving our minimum goal of 35 calls/wk? Clearly there is a lot of data below 35 so it does not look like we are meeting the specification. * * Note: The average line only shows up on a “run chart”. Time series chart in Minitab will not calculate the average line.
