* Lion Hill Tomb of The Han Dynasty The Lion Hil Tomb is the tomb of Liu Wu , the third Prince of Chu .It took archaeologists half a year to excavate the huge tomb . The excavation has made a great contribution to the study of the politics , economy , culture , military practices , and geography of the early Western Han Dynasty . For this reason it was listed as the first of the ten most important archaeological discoveries in China in 1995. The tomb is 117 meters long and covers an area of 851 square metres . It is the most magnificent Han tomb in Xuzhou and consists of an outside corridor ,an indoor corridor , a courtyard and the main chambers . Now we are standing in the half-finished extension of the outside corridor . Have you noticed the carved stones untidily piled here ? This is quite unuaual as the entrance of the tomb should have been pefect . The stones must be the rough stones intended as blocking stones and it seems that the entrance was not finished when the master died a sudden death . These are photos of the unearthed relic , including pans , bowls gourd ladles , basins and the like in the kitchen .This pot looks very smal in the picture , but in fact it is so large that a man cannot get his arms around it . Among other relic here , the most exquisite are two silk belts . This is the picture of one of them .The gold buckle weighs 390 grams and the elegant patterns on it of a bear , a dragon and a flying horse show an expressionist style of artistic exaggeration . The experts say that this gold buckle must come from Central-Asia , for the overall impression conveys the atmosphere of Central-Asia . The gate of the Burial Chamber was blocked by sixteen blocks of huge stone , each weighing more than five tons . When the chamber was excavated , a bank of 176000 Han copper coins was exposed .
