Introduction Multipath Fading and Simulation of Rayleigh Fading Channels In wireless communications, multipath fading is a propagation phenomenon that signals transmitted from a source arrive at the receiver antenna in two or more paths, resulting in constructive and destructive interference between signals arising from multiple paths [1]. Rayleigh fading is one of the models that are used to describe the form of fading that occurs when multipath propagation happens. When there are a large number of paths, the central limit theorem can be applied to model the time-variant impulse response of the channel as a complex-valued Gaussian random process [2]. The objective of the first part of this report is to build a signal model for ISI channels. In this work, L-ray Rayleigh fading channels will be simulated as the ISI channels.
