In this w ork, the distributions of irradiation damage w ere calculated by the T RIM code about energy loss, target displacements and DPA of C276 irradiated by protons w ith energy of 0 and 20 MeV, and there w ere comparisons among them as w ell. T he activation calculations of C276 w ere carried out w ith the FISPACT-2007 code at the same time. T he activity , afterheat and contact dose rate during different cooling time after shutdow n w ere described in detail. T he result indicates that electronic energy loss is the main part of irradiation damage, high-energy protons get low er probability of collision. In the case of the same energy protons irradiation, the activation characteris- tics increase w ith increasing irradiation time. With the same irradiation time, high energy protons w ould have a greater impact on materials. This w ork will provide support for the molecular dynamics simulation and the planning of the proton irradiation project. Key words: C276; proton; irradiation damage; T RIM code; acti
