Using ChemBioOffice Desktop files on a SharePoint system  This document describes how we successfully uploaded and edited ChemBioOffice Desktop files on a Sharepoint 2007 system. This was tested with .cdx, .cdxml and .c3xml files created in ChemBioOffice 12.0.2. As no changes were made to the ChemBioOffice applications it is expected that this works for other versions too. Unblocking the .cdx file extension in SharePoint  The default file format for ChemDraw files is .cdx. In SharePoint .cdx is a blocked file type. To unblock it 1. Launch the central administrator tool for the SharePoint farm you are administrating 2. Click on the “Operations” 3. Under Security configuration, click on “Blocked File Types” 4. Delete the line containing “cdx” (be sure you do not leave an empty line) 5. Click Ok How to Make ChemBioOffice documents work with SP2007   This example is for .cdxml files. The same steps apply for other file extensions A copy the chemdraw.gif to the following folder on your sharepoint 2007 server: Drive:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\Template\Images B Edit the Docicon.xml file to include the .cdxml extension. To do this, follow these steps: 1 - Start Notepad, 2 - open the Docicon.xml file. The Docicon.xml file is located in one of the following folders on the server: Drive:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\12\Template\Xml 3 - Add an entry for the .cdxml extension. Add this line to the following to the Docicon.xml file Mapping Key=cdxml Value=chemdraw.gif EditText=ChemDraw Document/ 4 - On the File menu, click Save, and then quit Notepad.
