The relationships between the structural parameters and the cutting performances are closely related, andthe structural parameters are relatedto each other and influencing each other. In this paper, the mathematical model of flank surfaces of microdrill in the global coordinate system is established by defining the rotation matrix, and the related mathematical expressions of chisel edge angle and cutting lips are derived via vectors. The structural parameters that influence the performances of cutting are quantitatively analyzed and some concluding remarks are made for engineering design with some theo- retical principles.
