It begins with research on the relevant British guidance, funding and policy of playgrounds, followed by summaries of design principles for natural style playgrounds. It then adopts one design project (Overthorpe, by Arcadia Landscape Design Ltd based in Sheffield) as a case study, which has won twice gold medals and special commendations from the Royal Horticultural Society Yorkshire in Bloom competitions. Finally, it proposes what is the reference value from the British natural style playground design through briefly analyzing the current approaches in China.
