卷 分区（Volume partition） volume Storage area on hard disk. The drive formats a volume using a file system, such as FAT or NTFS, and assigns a drive letter to it. You can see the contents of the drive by clicking the appropriate icon in Windows Explorer or my computer. A hard disk includes many volumes, and one volume can span many disks Basic volume The main disk partition or logical drive residing on the underlying disk Boot volume A volume that contains the Windows operating system and its supporting files. Boot volumes can be system volumes, but they dont have to be system rolls Dynamic volume A volume that resides on a dynamic disk. Windows supports five types of dynamic volumes: simple volumes, spanned volumes, zone volumes, mirrored volumes, and RAID-5 volumes. A dynamic volume is formatted by using a file system (for example, FAT or NTFS) and has a drive letter assigned to it Mirrored volume A fault tolerant volume that copies data on two physical disks. By using two identical volumes (referred to as mirror images), mirrored volumes provide data redundancy to copy information contained in the volume. The mirror is always located on another disk. If one of the physical disks fails, the data on the fault disk will not be available, but the system can continue to operate on mirrored images on other disks. You can only create mirrored volumes on a dynamic disk. Simple volume A dynamic volume consisting of disk space on a single dynamic disk. Simple volumes can be made up of individual regions on a disk or multiple regions that are linked together on the same disk. You can extend simple volumes on the same disk, or extend to other disks. If you extend simple volumes across multiple disks, the volume will become trans - volume. Only simple volumes can be created on the dynamic disk. Simple volumes are not fault tolerant, but you can mirror them to produce a mirrored volume. spanned volume A volume made up of disk space on multiple physical disks. You can increase the
