Objective To study the expression and mutation of catenin in nonsmall cell lung cancer ( NSCLC) and the relationships between expression, mutation and clinicopathological parameters and prognosis. Methods All the120 samples (fixed with 10% formalin and embedded in paraffin blocks) wereobtained from pa tients with NSCLC, who underwent surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from 2001 to 2002 and Anshan Tumor Hospital from 1980 to 2001. Followup was available in 67 patients. The 53 fresh NSCLCsamples and corresponding normal lung tissues were obtained from the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University.
