Methods: Based on the follow-up data of 1700 patients with PICC in the wards and 2800 patients with PICC in the PICC nursing specialist outpatient clinic, we compared the readmission rate, the complication incidence, and the satisfaction of PICC patients between two groups. Results: PICC nursing specialist outpatient clinic made the PICC patients readmission rate increase from 85.71% to 95.68%, the incidence of catheter-related complications reduce from 2.94% to 0.78%, and the satisfaction of the nursing specialist service and the quality of clinical nursing service increase to 98.40% and 97.04%.
