In international trade, transactions are concluded on the basis of stated terms and conditions that will be discussed and exchanged by asking and answering. The party who asks is making an inquiry. The other party who answers is making a quotation or offer. There will be many rounds of such discussions or negotiations on a matter. An offer may either be firm within a certain time limit or be made without engagement. A firm offer is a promise to sell goods at a stated price, usually within a stated period of time. It must be clear, definite, complete and final. In the latter case it is subject to confirmation by the seller after being accepted by the buyer. When offering, this must be made clear to avoid possible disputes in future. Firm Offer Non-firm Offer In international trade, the selling conditions the seller gives are called offer. There are two kinds of offer- one is firm offer, or offer with engagement; the other is non-firm offer, or offer without engagement. Quote us your lowest CIF Hamburg price for 500 MT of ?make a quotation 3. confirm vt.确认,批准 confirmation n. 该发盘以我方最后确认为准。 This offer is subject to our final confirmation. 4.agreeable adj. 用人作主语时, 作‘同意’解,和介词‘to’ 连用;也可以接动词不定式。 ?We are agreeable to your proposal. ?They are agreeable to our views. ?Your proposal
