Objective To determine the contents o ICAM1 and VCAM1 in patients w ith traumatic racture and during the course o operation, in order to detect i in ection occurred a ter operation and its relationship w ith the local conditions o the w ound Methods The contents o ICAM1 and VCAM1 in 50 patients su ered rom racture and underwent operation w ere detected by using Enzymelinked immunoadsordent assay ( ELISA) . The patients were divided according to the time o injury: group 1 o 21 cases had surgery w ithin 90 minutes a ter racture, and group 2 o 29 w ithin 1~ 3 days . Group 3 o 30 normal persons served as control group . Results The contents o ICAM1 and VCAM1 in group 1 had no obvious di erence rom that o control group . While the contents o ICAM1 and VCAM1 in group 2 w ere higher than that o control group and be ore operation. The contents o ICAM1 and VCAM1 in 12 cases in which in ection occurred a ter racture and operation were much higher than that in patients w ith in ection. Conclusion Trauma racture and operation can cause release o cytokine by lymphocyte and macrophage, high ex pression o ICAM1 and VCAM1 by endodermis cells and ibroblast .
