With the improvement of voltage level and line length, the reclosing failure has taken place in some of high voltage multi-circuit transmission line while the transient fault occurs. To solve this problem, the formulas of calculating the secondary arc current and recovery voltage on double-circuit lines are presented. Using PSCAD/EMTDC, the secondary arc current and recovery voltage of a 500 kV double circuit lines without transposition are calculated in different phase sequence arrangement, different fault phases and different line length.
