The period from the 1950s to the 1980s has often been referred to as The Age of Methods”. Eg. Situational Language Teaching ( the United Kingdom )Vs Audio-Lingualism ( the United States);1.语法翻译法的语言观:语言是书面语,语言是一种知识,是由语音、语法和词汇构成的符号体系 2.翻译法的主要特点 (1)母语与所学语言经常并用,即教师说出一个外语词后,马上翻译出对应的母语词;教师说出一句外语句子后,马上将其译成母语;教师逐句分段地读连贯的外语课文,然后再逐词逐句地用母语翻译过来。;(2)整个外语教学过程中,学生始终与两种语言打交道,教学中强调两种语言的机械对比和对译. 如: Class begins.开始上课了。 Now open your book, please.现在,请打开书本。 Turn to page five.翻到第五页。 Let‘s read the text现在我们来读课文。 ;直接法是指通过运用外语本身进行外语教学的方法。 在教学中,教师不用母语,不进行翻译,也不作语法分析,直接把外语和它所表达的事物直接联系起来,教师通过各种直观手段让儿童直接
