TPS次微米繞射光束線建造現況說明會 (The Current Status of Construction for TPS Sub-micro X-Ray Diffraction Beamline ) Haydn Chen Tunghai University 05/21/2011 Outline Background Part I The Beamline Design of Sub‐micron Diffraction Part II The Scientific Propose and End‐station Design Part III The Applications of Micro‐diffraction Contact Information Letter of Interest (LOI)  Among those, the micron size to even nano size beam for 3D structural microscopy is one of the advancing technology ...  It uses either polychromatic or monochromatic synchrotron x-rays with a focusing device utilizing Kirpatrick-Bias mirror. Diffraction images are recorded on a 2D CCD camera and the depth resolution can achieved using a differential aperture traversing along the surface of the specimen --(DAXM)  By analyzing images taken at different wire positions via some image reconstruction algorism, it yields information at different depths, thus enabling 3D information to be discerned.  White beam Laue patterns from x-ray microbeams provides local structure, orientation, and elastic strain tensors with 3D submicron spatial resolution. This is demonstrated by B. C. Larson et a. in Nature 415, 887 (2002)  Monochromatic DAXM techniques have been recently developed as well for measuring absolute lattice parameter with 3D. This is illustrated by Lyle E.
