Similarly, men invest mainly in capital that raises market efficiency, because they spend most of their working time in the market. Such sexual differences in specialized investments reinforce any biologically induced sexual division of labor between the market and household sectors and greatly increase the difficulty of disentangling biological from environmental causes of the pervasive division of labor between men and women.
