The composition of those sedmi ent are very comp lex and process of sedmi entation is in disorder. In add ition, satu- rated fine sand and silt d istributew idely and phenomena of earthquake-induced soft settlement or sand liquefaction may happen. Th is paper analyzes the test results of 155 undisturbed samp les of recently deposited soils from south- ern area of Jiangsu Province during four years includ ing mucky silty clay, clay/ silty clay, interbedded silty clay/ silty sand, silt, silty sand, fine sand andmedium sand. The average fitting curves betw een dynam ic shearmodu lus ratioG /Gmax asw ell as damp ing ratioD and shear strain amplitude C, and their parameters in the emp irical formula ofG /Gmax - C andD - C curves for types of soils mentioned above are presented.
