Unit 5 Music Period 4 Language points Aims: 1. Ability aims: 1).To learn some useful words and expressions 2).To learn some useful structures 2. Knowledge aims: 1). Grasp the usage of such important expressions : in cash; play jokes/a joke on (sb.); be/get familiar with; even more; imagine; direction; in addition; send out; sort out; mix up 2). Master the sentence pattern: make +宾语+宾补(动词原形) 分词作状语 How does music make you feel? 音乐是你有什么感受? make +宾语+宾补(动词原形) 即: make sb. do sth. 使某人干某事,主动语态中要用省略to 的不定式作宾补,但变为被动语态时,则不能省to. The teacher made him stay after school. 老是要他放学后留下来。 He was made to stay after school. “make+宾语+宾补”的其他几种形式: 1). make +宾语+形容词 How can you make it more beautiful? 你是如何使它更漂亮的? 2). make + 宾语+过去分词 We must make it knowm to the public that the pollution is very terrible. 我们必须让公众只知道,污染太严重了。 3). make+宾语+名词 We made him monitor of our class. 我们选他做我们的班长。 4). make+ 宾语+介词短语 Make youself at home. 请不要客气。 Later they may give performances in pubs or clubs, for which they are paid in cash. in cash 用现金;有现钱 The thieves stole 5,000 yuan in cash. 小偷盗走5,000元现金。 3. The musicians were to play jokes on each other as well as play music. play jokes/a joke on (sb.) 开(某人) 玩笑; 捉弄 She likes playing jokes on her little brother. 她喜欢与她小弟弟开玩笑。 4. The TV organizers had planned to find four musicians who could act as well as sing. 电视制作人原计划寻找四位既能唱歌又能表演的乐手。 had planned 表示本计划做某事而没有实现。动词want;think; intend; expect; hope等的一般过去式与不定式的完成时连用,均可表示原先的打算或想法但实际上没有实现,也可用过去完成式来表示。 I intended to have helped you, but I had no money then. =I had intended to help you,… 我本想帮你,但当时没钱。 5. They put an advertisement in a newspaper looking for rock musicians, but … 他们在报上登了广告,想招摇滚乐手,但是… looking for rock musicians为分词短语,在句中作状语。分词作状语,应根据句子的主语判断分词形式;若分词语与句子主语之间为主动关系,用现在分词;若为被动关系,用过去分词;若分词表示的动作发生在谓语动词之前,则分词用完成式。 Standing on the top of the mountain, we can see the whole city.站在山顶上,我们能看见整座城市。 Having finished his homework, he went out to play. 完成了作业以后
