Four types of herringbone arrangement were designed. The mixing of pure water and acetone solu- tion were numerically simulated to investigate the mixing efficiency of these mixers from Re = 1 to Re = 10. And the traditional straight fluid channel with grooved surfaces were compared to a helical shape mixer. The computer simulation of the mixing be- havior was described with the governing equations. Four places in the fluid channel were chosen for the inspection of the mixing effect. Inspected results show that the best mixing was found in the case that the tip of the grooved herringbones toward the inlet, and the long and short legs were located at same side. The mean mixing efficiency around the outlet reached to 90% for the fluids at Re = 1. Therefore, the design of heli- cal fluid channel and grooved surface can increa
