To validate the applicability of DPM to sem-i arid areas, w e selected four typical types of farmlands( soils) in the sem-i arid north-central Shaanxi Province, measured and calculated the surface aerodynamic roughness, microaggregate distribution of surface soils, friction velocity, and threshold friction velocity on each study area, and comparatively analyzed the DPM model simulation accuracy betw een the different soil types and betw een different seasons. The results show ed that DPM model can be used to simulate dust emission flux of the different soil types in the sem-i arid farmlands, and can better simulate dust emission flux for the summer and winter seasons in the sem-i arid farmlands.
