Let’s ‘do’ English. Let’s act. First of all, I want you to form into a group with four people in it.” 教师用手策划一个四人的范围。“Now I want you to brainstorm the names of the animals. You can say, ‘dog, cat, elephant…’ in your group. Then we’ll say them together in class. OK? Let’s begin.” 教师先让大家说动物的词汇,在小组说的基础上,教师让学生在全班相互补充说。等到动物词汇完成之后,教师接着说:“Now let’s say the names of the fruit.” 教师用类似的方法带着大家一起复习,最后学生可以将讨论好的词语写在自己的词汇积累本上。教师拿出所有的动物图片对学生说:“Next, we are going to play another game. We have many animal pictures here. But we don’t know whether they are house animals, or farm animals, or zoo animals. Let’s divide them on the blackboard. I give each of you a picture, and you come to the front and put it on the right place.” 说着教师便在黑板上分出三块地方,并写出house animals, farm animals, zoo animals. 学生迅速将自己手里的动物图片贴到黑板上某个地方。有些动物可以属于两个类别,教师要适时引导学生并用英语适当说明。比如:“This animal can be here or can be here.” 教师拿着动物分别放在不同的位置上。“Do you understand?”如果学生有能力自己将单词写下来,就尽量少用图片。接下来,教师可以让大家做辨音练习。首先教师给学生提供三个读音,e, ee, a, 然后让学生在所给的词汇表中找出相应的单词,并进行连线。如,将cat 连在字母a 上等。最后检查分类是否正确。小组同学做口头接龙游戏时,教师可以这样说:“Now we are going to play another word game. I want you to work in a group. The first person will say a word, for example, ‘apple’, the second person can say, ‘egg’, because the ending letter of the first word is ‘e’
