Co llege of Resources and Environm en,t Huazhong Agriculture University, W uhan 430070) Abstract To apply eco-concrete to p rotecting urban sloping-land and river bank, a study on controlmecha- nism of eco-concrete for sloping-land stormw ater pollutionw as carried out inW uhan City Zoo in 2004. The resu lts show ed that eco-concrete could effectively change the hydrological p rocess by delaying the generation of runoff obviously, andm ake the export amount of pollutant load decrease sharp ly. Comparedw ith no-vegetation soil(CK ) and mi proved soil plots (T 1), the reduced rates of runoff volume in eco-concrete p lot(T2)w ere 48% and 24%, and the unit pollution load rates(UPLRs)of total n itrogen(TN )reduced were 3% and 4 %, dissolved nitrogen (DN )80% and 33%, total phosphorous(TP)7%and 30%, d issolved phosphorous(DP)80% and 33%, chem-i cal oxygen demand (COD )62% and 40%, and total suspended solids(TSS )6% and 43%, respectively.
