Methods: Imaging manifestations of 12 cases of patients with extrapleural solitary fibrous tumor confirmed by surgical pathology were analyzed retrospectively and compared with pathological findings. Of all the patients,8 underwent plain and enhanced CT scan,4 underwent plain and enhanced MRI scan ,2 underwent both CT and MRI scan. Results: There were three lesions located in abdomen, two lesions in retroperitoneum, the pelvis cavity and the thigh respectively, one lesion in the lateral ventricle, the vicinity of spine and left kidney respectively. All these masses were well defined with maximal diameter of 3.6～22cm,7 appeared as round or oval, 5 as irregular shaped, among which 1 showed the tendency of wedging into the space and 2 were lobulated in shape. On plain CT,4 lesions appeared homogeneous density and others appeared heterogeneous density with irregular low density areas and 1 has hemorrhage. On enhanced CT,3 cases presented marked homogeneous enhancement, 4 cases demonstrated obviously heterogeneous enhancement with 揼eographic pattern” and progressive enhancement pattern, with the enhancement model of “rapid wash in and slow wash out”. On MRI scan, slightly hypointensity or isointensity on T1WI, hyperintensity or low-high mixed signal with signal void of flow on T2WI.
