They are not affected by what others think they should do. People who have strong self-esteem are not harmed by criticism; they do not view criticism as a personal attack. Instead, they think criticism is a suggestion for them to improve. 3 by contrast, shy people tend to be less passive, and less likely to be influenced by others. Whether they are doing what should be done requires the approval of others. Shy people are very sensitive to criticism; they feel that criticism is good; it proves that they are worse than others. They are also hard to be happy with other peoples praise because they believe they are not worthy of praise. A shy man may answer someones compliment in such a way: you say that just to make me feel better.. I know its not true.
