If the power suddenly interrupted, it will cause serious adverse consequences for industrial production and may even undergo major equipment damage or personnel casualties. Therefore, the substation to ensure supply electric for power plant normal and orderly has very important significance. This paper is divided into eight chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, which focuses on a papers background, significance, research methods and design of the main contents of the substation. The second chapter describes the method of load calculation .when we get the detail results, we can determine the loud center. The third chapter is about the choice of transformers and the compensation of reactive power. Chapter four is about the option of the main wiring. The fifth chapter is short-circuit current calculation; Chapter Six is the selection and check of electrical equipment. Chapter Seven is about the configuration and calculation of the relay protection. Chapter eight is about substation lightning protection and grounding. Chapter nine is the conclusions of the paper. The papers final design drawings attached.
