活塞的往复运动使气缸两端的容积发生增减变化,大的吸气,小的排气,因而叫双作用气缸。 To better illustrate the gas compression in the cylinder, we will use the slides on the next few pages. This illustration shows a cylinder with the piston at the inner end of the cylinder. The outer end of the cylinder contains gas at inlet pressure and the frame end contains a slight amount of gas at discharge pressure. At this point, the cylinder is at its maximum volume on the outer end of the cylinder and minimum volume on the inner end. 外端:压缩 As the piston moves toward the outer end, the volume in the cylinder is decreased. Since the inlet valve prevents flow back out of the cylinder and the pressure in the cylinder is still below the pressure in the discharge gas passage, the gas is trapped and becomes compressed as the volume decreases. 内端:膨胀 As the piston moves away from the inner end, the volume in the cylinder increases allowing the high pressure gas that was trapped at the end of the delivery stroke to expand and reduce in pressure. OUTER END - Delivery As the volume continues to decrease with piston movement, the gas continues to increase in pressure. Once the pressure in the cylinder is slightly above the pressure in the discharge gas passage, the discharge valve opens and gas from the cylinder bore is allowed to enter the discharge gas passage through the discharge valve. INNER END - Inlet As the volume continues to increase with piston movement, the gas continues to decrease in pressure. Once the pressure in the cylinder is slightly below the pressure in the inlet gas passage, the inlet valve opens and gas in the inlet gas passage is allowed to enter the cylinder bore through the inlet valve. Using this illustration, we can see that even though the cylinder diameter is the same on both ends of the cylinder and the stroke is the same, the inner end of the cylinder holds a lesser volume of gas due to the piston rod displacing volume.
