INSITE GAMMA TELEMETRY TOOL GTET-I (P/N 101291221) September 25, 2003 SAFETY ELECTRICAL SHOCK POTENTIAL GTET contains high-voltage components capable of producing serious injury or death There is an electrical shock potential from the following sources: Instrument Power bus – 200 VDC Auxiliary bus – up to 600 VDC Wireline connectors – 240 VAC and 600 VDC Gamma high-voltage power supply – 1500 VDC SAFETY ELECTRICAL SHOCK POTENTIAL To minimize the possibility of electrical shock, only trained technical personnel familiar with the tool operation should perform repair or maintenance on the tool Disconnect all power from the tool during troubleshooting, assembly, and disassembly Attach a safety ground to the tool chassis when a powered tool is being handled INSITE QUAD ELECTRICAL STANDARDS All tools are designed using an INC-TP board All tools use a Media Access Unit (MAU) Board to interface Ethernet to the INC-TP The Instrument power bus is nominally 200 V DC All tools use standard power supply assemblies All downhole PCB mount connectors are standardized to Micro-“D” connectors All boards that require only one connector have Socket type contacts Only 15, 25, 37,and 51-contact connectors are used MICRO-D CONNECTOR PINOUT MICRO-D CONNECTOR PINOUT DIMENSIONS AND RATINGS PRIMARY FUNCTIONS OF THE GTET Power Delivery and Distribution Downhole Telemetry Modem Ethernet tool bus INC-TP Type Q board and firmware Gamma detection Analog measurements POWER DELIVERY AND DISTRIBUTION The six outer cable conductors are used to deliver both Instrument power and to independently deliver Auxiliary power One controlling limitation of the amount of power that can be delivered downhole is that the logging cable has an insulation limitation of 1,100 V peak In order to deliver maximum power downhole and not exceed 1,100 V on any surface conductor, it is necessary to use as low a resistance path as possible POWER DELIVERY AND DISTRIBUTION (INSTRUMENT POWER) Maximum of 200 W of instrume
