EXTENSION TO THE LHAS Introduction: Tibet is a beautiful and mystical place, covered with white snow, surrounded by limpid lake and jade grassland, flocks of cattle and sheep, ancient temple and monks as well as lots of chiliast. It is a definitely ancient fairy kingdom. Tibet is located in Tibetan Plateau with average altitude above 4000 meters , which bordering from the south The Himalayas to the north Mt. Kunlun and the west the Pamirs with total area 250 thousand square kilometers, occupying more than a quarter of China’s land area. The Tibetan Plateau is well know as the roof of the world as it is the largest in terms of the area and the highest in terms of the altitude. From the first day that human being appears in the Tibetan Plateau, people yearn for pioneering a road stretching to all directions in sheer cliffs and steep mountains covered with white snow. In the 21th century, Qinghai-Tibetan Railway, the highest altitude railway appears in the Tibetan Plateau and attracts the whole world attention. Tibet has gradually got rid of the mysterious veil and will show the world a true and dynamic Tibet。 But nowadays railway is only one way of the history river which enters Tibet. For thousands of years, how do people get in touch with this fairytale Tibetan Plateau? For people who live in Tibet, how does the change of transportation affect their way of life and attitude towards life as well as the local popular culture and faddish concept?
