If you are short of time, set Exercise 7 for homework and omit Exercise 11.

If you have two periods for this lesson, a suitable natural break is after Exercise 5.

Exercise 1
■ In pairs, students discuss the questions about their favourite primary and junior high school teachers.
■ Elicit from students reasons for their favourite teachers.
■ Some of the students then share their ideas with the whole class.
Read to learn
Exercise 2
■ Students read the texts silently and find the answer to the questions individually.
■ Check answers as a class.
