SBI Unit 4 Earthquake
Period One Reading’t Sleep Teaching aims Knowledge and ability aims:
Get the students to know about basic knowledge about natural disasters. Students should learn about the signs before the Tanshan earthquake ,the damage of the earthquake and the recovery after it. Know how to protect oneself and help others in disasters
Students can find the main idea of the passage and each paragraph and find detailed information by skimming and scanning to improve their reading strategies such as close reading, summarizing and sentences guessing .
Students can learn to analyse long and difficult sentences in the passage.
Students can retell the passage based on the given information and design an interview of the survivors.

3.Emotional aims: Students should be aware of the terrible disasters ,meanwhile get them to face it ,treat it in a proper way, and have confidence in fighting natural disasters and never get discouraged. Teaching important points and difficult points Important points:
Students should learn to find useful information by skimming and scanning
Students can analyse long and difficult sentences.
Difficult points:
