Step1.Lead in
(At first, I will introduce myself to my students, because I am their new teacher, and help them get the memory of introduction.)
“Good morning/Good afternoon, boys and girls. I’m … I ’m your new teacher this term. What are your names? Can you tell me your name or some other things about you?”
(Write down the title: This is me!)
Step2.Presentation and activities
The teacher introduces self with three students.
Help and ask students to introduce themselves to each other
Model:
A: Hello/Hi/Good morning/Good afternoon/Good evening.
I’m…. What’s your name?
B: …… I’m …. .
Step3.Practice
1.Show some different times on the paper
6:30 a.m.; 2:45 p.m.; 6:00 p.m.; 10:00 p.m.
2. Make students find correct greetings for these times and complete the exercise on books.
3. Introduce new phrase: Good night; Sweet dreams
(Ask students to search for more daily English greetings in our lives after class.)
Step4.Activities: Making friends
Draw six masks of six students from Sunshine Middle School, help students know them:
Amy Simon Millie Kitty Sandy Daniel
Ask six students with masks to walk in the classroom, and the other students try to make friends with the six characters.
Introduce new greetings: --Nice to meet you. –Nice to meet you too.
Encourage students to use more greetings they know when necessary.
