Teaching difficulties: To practise listening for gist and for specific information Teaching Aids: computer and cassette Teaching procedures: Match Ⅰ. Warming up T: History makers mean people who make great contribution to human and society’s development. Now I give you some information and you guess who they are? Do Part 1. Match. First give four sentences and ask student guess who they are? If students have some difficulties the teacher give their photos to match these descriptions with the photos. Listening Ⅱ. Listen to learn 1. Look at part 2 Goals Shown : learn to use the following . agree, think, you’re right, don’t agree, in my opinion, personally 2. First ask students to express agree and disagree then, read these words above . 3.Do the exercise 2 Play the cassette for students to listen and complete the Function File using the words above.. 4. How to express agree and disagree? If the speaker wants to give opinions, the following sentences are often used : Well, I think… I am sorry ,but I don’t agree. In my opinion… Yes, you are right I agree with you . Personally,I think… That’s not right . I am for you. Well, I disagre .I am against you . and see if their predictions are correct. III. Listening 1.Ask students to pronounce the Key Words. One of purposes is that can then check if their pronunciation is correct as they listen to the tape. The other purpose is to remember these words to understand the radio Programme better.
