Grade 7(Book2) Module8 Unit2 My past life Teaching Plan I.Teaching aims: The unit is focused on the students’ listening and speaking, the grammar (the past tense ”be”) and the vocabulary are also important. .Help students to understand conversations containing past simple “be”,lead them to talk about one’s past life by using the past simple “be”. II.Knowledge point: Vocabulary and Phrases: past, was, were, be born in, founder, scientist, professor, strict, nice, friendly, unfriendly,naughty, primary school, well-behaved, hey, province. Key sentences: ①Where were you born? I was born in a small village/big city.... ②What was he like? He was naughty/kind.... ③What was the name of…….? ④--- Were you born in Shanghai/Hong Kong...? ---Yes, I was. /No, I wasn’t. 3.Pronunciation and speaking: Some words in American English(AmE) are different in British English(BrE),such as: (AmE) (BrE) favorite favourite Movie theater cinema Store shop Grammar: ①the past tense ”be”定义:一般过去时,当我们要叙述过去发生的事情,要用一般过去时态。 ②结构:动词用过去式 ③常用时间状语:last +名词(last year, last month), yesterday, the day before yesterday, in +过去时间(in 1980),… ago(ten years ago),等等. ④Be动词在过去式中的变换规则: 过去式 否定式 am , is was was not / wasn’t are were were not /weren’t III. Teaching method? Top-down approach , listening to the tape and do some exercises/activities and task-based. At the same time, using Interactive approach and Communicate approach. IV.Teaching process: 1.Lead-in Warming up: Greeting each other. Tell the students: Today we’ll talk about our hometown first,then sayI was born in Emei.Let the students guess the meaning of this sentence.Thus lead-in the topic and teach students how to do brief introduction of themselves by using key sentences and the the past tense ”be” in this module.
