Key sentences: ①Where were you born? I was born in a small village/big city....②What was he like? He was naughty/kind....③What was the name of…….?④--- Were you born in Shanghai/Hong Kong...? ---Yes, I was. /No, I wasn’t.3.Pronunciation and speaking: Some words in American English(AmE) are different in British English(BrE),such as: (AmE) (BrE) favorite favourite Movie theater cinema Store shop Grammar: ①the past tense ”be”定义：一般过去时，当我们要叙述过去发生的事情，要用一般过去时态。 ②结构：动词用过去式 ③常用时间状语：last +名词(last year, last month), yesterday， the day before yesterday, in +过去时间(in 1980),… ago(ten years ago),等等. ④Be动词在过去式中的变换规则： 过去式 否定式 am , is was was not / wasn’t are were were not /weren’t III. Teaching method? Top-down approach , listening to the tape and do some exercises/activities and task-based. At the same time, using Interactive approach and Communicate approach. IV.Teaching process: 1.Lead-in Warming up: Greeting each other. Tell the students: Today we’ll talk about our hometown first,then sayI was born in Emei.Let the students guess the meaning of this sentence.Thus lead-in the topic and teach students how to do brief introduction of themselves by using key sentences and the the past tense ”be” in this module.
