Grade 9(Book1) Module2 Unit2 Great books Teaching Plan I.Teaching aims: By learning this module, students should understand the conversation about appraisement of great books, and learn the use of present simple passive. II.Knowledge point: Vocabulary and Phrases: work,influence,respect,wise,literature,behaviour,cave,freedom,funeral,social,theme,treasure,clever,dead, pleased, alive, southern, state,thinker, monthly, outsider, version, historical,editor, publisher, reviewer.as far as,not…any more,millions of,run away, grow up, talk about, be known as/for. Key sentences: ①Shakespeare’s works are seen by millions of people every year. ②Mark Twain was an important writer, but he isn’t known as a great thinker like Confucius. Grammar: ① not…any more 与not…any longer 的区别: i. not…any more :指做某事的次数不再增加,多与短暂性动词连用,=no more(常放动词前). eg.The baby no more cried.= The baby didn’t cry any more.这个婴儿不再哭了。 Now she wasnt afraid any more. 现在她再也不害怕了。 ii. not…any longer :指时间上不再延长,多与持续性动词连用,=no longer(常放在动词后) eg .He was no longer a thief. 他不再是小偷了。 ②Daily expressions eg: What’s up? Sounds like a good idea! I’ve?got?it?right.?????.As?far?as?I?remember It’s a pity. What a pity! ③被动语态由?“助动词be+及物动词的过去分词”构成。人称、数和时态的变化是通过be的变化表现出来的。 eg: we?are?still?influenced?by?his?thoughts ④make+宾语+adj.的表示“致使/使/导致......怎么样” eg: Perhaps?thats?what?makes?“Great?Books”---theyre?still?read?today?. Eating?the?bad?bananas?made?them?ill. ⑤Why?don’t?you?do?sth.=?Why?not?do?sth III. Teaching method: Top-down approach , listening to the tape and do some exercises/activities and task-based. At the same time, using Interactive approach and Communicate approach. IV.Teaching process: 1.Lead-in Warming up: Ask the students some questions. Do you like reading books? What’s your favourite book?Who’s your favourite writer?Then,Show three pictures about Confucius, Shakespeare and Mark Twain. Let them guess who they are. Can you say something about them?
