Running Head: An Impolite Manner An Impolite Manner Murphy ID : 201404014007 College 4 Dr.Huihui Li College English?Reading Writing November 21, 2014 An Impolite Manner Traditionally, in my hometown, there is a manner called “quancai”, which means using one’s chopsticks to pass food to the other one to show the owner’s kindness and warmth. While, although this is a traditional etiquette, many young people now are not quite agree with this ‘polite’ manner. And that’s where the story begins. One sunny Sunday, all students in the school could have a short-day rest and we Senior-Three students are no exception, too. I together with my two classmates have decided to go bike-cycling to release the heavy pressure of study, or tests. Before the hiking was over, one of my friends suggested a visit to my home. And I agreed immediately. So, after the relaxing trip ended, we three guys happily arrived my home. To my surprise, my grandmother, who lived in the countryside, came to visit. (My mom was a cloth-maker who worked at home, and she was working when we came.) Seeing my friends coming, my grandmother and my mom both seemed very happy, and my dad was on a business trip at that time. Soon, my two classmates was surrounded by all kinds of snacks and fruits, with my grandma’s careful enquire like ‘how is studying going now’ and ‘Is the life of Senior Three hard really suffer a lot’. Time quickly passed, and the lunch time knocked. At first, my classmates decided to leave but after my grandma and my mom’s warm invitation, they stayed. Mom still working, grandma prepared lunch in the kitchen, my friends and I then watched TV in the parlor. It was about an hour before the lunch was OK. And my grandmother is a famous cook in my hometown, she is often invited to prepare feasts when someone celebrates something happy such as finishing or buying a new house or getting married.
