In recent years, quite a few enterprises tend to hold an annual meeting at the end of the year as a way of celebrating the New Year. Some people are in favour of this kind of celebration and believe both the company and the employees benefit from it. An annual meeting, if held successfully, can help create a harmonious working environment in the company. However, other people hold a completely opposite opinion. They regard it as a waste of money to rent the auditorium, to pay for the hostess, to eat in luxurious restaurants and so on. This would contribute to a considerable portion of the financial expense of the company, which, in consequence, would lower the amount of money that the employees can get. In my view, the advantages of the annual meetings outweigh the disadvantages. Firstly, the employees can be refreshed after the whole year of hard work. Secondly, during the whole celebration, the colleagues have chances to get a further understanding of each other.
