● Task Inviting your friend to join a gym This section consists of aseries of activities which provide you opportunities to learn and practisethe language skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing. Theintegrated skills training is divided into threesteps, and each step is preceded by a skills building activity. You will learn how to invite your friends to join a gym by writing an e-mail. Skills building 1: finding information 1. Here you will read about how to find theinformation you want to know in along passage. Please find useful information in theletter on page 45. 2. Please read the two points on page 52. For reference: Thefirst point tell students that reading questions carefully can help them work out what information they need to find. Thesecond point tells students what main points and key words mean. They will know what to do to find information quickly in a long passage. 3. Read the letter on page 45. Underline the main idea and circle thekey words. Answers: Main idea: I think too manypeople takeweight-loss pills without really knowing that they can damage their health. Key words: causes liverfailure; worried about her figure; health is priceless; eat properly Step1: recommending a gym to a friend Try to find and choosesomeinformation about agym after you read and listen to the ads about it.
