Write your essay on Answer Sheet 1. 写作策略：As is vividly illustrated in the picture above, the teacher is teaching her students Multiplication Table while one of her students raises a question whether the Multiplication Table would be outdated by the time they are in the job market. This picture reveals a social phenomenon that people now are always questioning the importance of learning basic skills. As far as I am concerned, this opinion does great harm to the elementary education and the society as a whole. There are several reasons why I hold this point of view. On one hand, basic skills play a vital role in people’s ability of acquiring further knowledge in that they lay a solid foundation for higher and more advanced knowledge. Without basic skills, a person could not learn and grasp more capabilities required in their later study and career. On the other hand, while studying basic skills, people can develop the learning capacity and analytical ability; therefore, they are capable of learning anything new and novel in their future work, which is of great importance to any person in the future job market. To sum up, basic skills make a great difference to both laying a foundation for further study and developing the learning and analytical capacity.
